MOBILITY AWARENESS OPEN DAY

Jeremy Browne MP for Taunton, has agreed to find out exactly what it is like to use a mobility vehicle.
On Friday 26th June at 10am in our building, he will be introduced to his class 3 mobility vehicle. He will then travel a route around Taunton which should take 30 - 35 minutes, to discover type of problems that mobility equipment users face.
After Jeremy's drive, he will be meeting officials from the local council and the police. There is also a strong possibility that a government department official will be in attendance to listen to the open forum. Please come along to offer your concerns. We would like to treat this day as an opportunity for you to be heard by the people in power.
We would like your feedback on problem areas, and any other matters of concern you may have. This information will be passed to Jeremy Browne so that issues can be raised in Parliament. Please use the supplied survey form and return it to us by 19th June if possible.
Orchard Mobility have also had discussions with the local Police authority to raise concerns regarding insurance, tax discs, safety and the possibility of training for those using mobility equipment on the roads.
The aim of this exercise is to clarify the situation and for the government to issue clear directives. With many more electric vehicles now being used on the roads and the pavements, there is now an urgency for these issues to be addressed.
A local policeman will be on hand throughout the day to provide free security coding for your existing equipment if you are able to bring it along.
Orchard Mobility have decided to combine this event with an open day in our showroom. We have contacted our suppliers to provide representatives, advice and the latest equipment to demonstrate. Special discounts will apply for all orders placed on this day.
We very much hope you can spare some time on this day to come in and say hello. The better this day goes, the better for everyone concerned, and the stronger the prospect of this becoming an annual event. We will also be holding a raffle to win a £100 discount voucher as the prize. Tickets are available in our showroom on the day costing £1 for 5 tickets. We will draw the winning ticket at 2pm.
